Got home the other nignt to find this snake taggled in the netting that keeps the Heron out of the pond. It may only be a grass snake but it's still over a meter long and has teeth if no venom!
It took a while for us to cut him free from the net and he was exhausted as he sloped off. 2 years ago we had to do the same twice in the summer - lets hope he has learnt his lesson this time!
